    1. You can apply for adsense or media net incase you have good traffic on your blog, and start making money through ads. For woocommerce, you need to have products that you want to sell on your blog like Ebooks or Courses, so its like an online shop that you set up on your blog. They have a plugin that you simply install, and you add additional feature to your blog as an online shop. You can find more information on their website.

  14. Nice tips..Although it seems like the freee version of wordpress doesnt allow for some of these benefits like ads. What do you think I can do to monetize my site in the interim. Thanks

    1. If you have good traffic you can apply for Wordads, I think they allow free users to make money on their blogs. But if you really want to monetize your blog with other ads networks then you will have to switch your site to self hosting i.e buy your own domain then host with companies like Ipage or Bluehost. You will still mantain your content but now you will switch from WordPress.com to WordPress.org

  15. Just what I needed. Been searching for this type of blog post. Thank you for detailing and categorizing them. This is a new blogger need to know. 🙂

  16. Hi, John. Great tips with solid companies bloggers can click through to. I appreciate that as often writers state the content but not the follow up of the companies which offer the service, etc. Then we have to go out and do more work, lol. I know – call me lazy! Seriously, though, great info. Happy new year!

    1. It always good to try out many other alternatives. I tried amazon but I didn’t manage to register with them but I can sell amazon through Viglink Viglink enables you to sell many affiliate products without having to register with the sellers. They automatically add affiliate links to your site and you can get links on trending products and promote them wherever you may want: This can be social media, your site, your blog posts etc. You can try Viglink

  21. Thanks for sharing many new bloggers get confused as to how to make money with their blog.Having said that before you can make any money with a blog, you need traffic because it`s only website visitors that purchase.

    1. I wouldn’t say time but it all depends on traffic. If you can get reliable traffic on your blog within the shortest time possible, then you are ready to start monetizing it.

    1. Not sure, I thing you can monetize your blog anywhere, what matters is you need to be self hosted and have a domain + Enough traffic. If you are serious on making money on your blog, then invest in a domain and get self hosting. WordPress is one of the best, but it all depends on your preferences.

    1. I really appreciate you for commenting on this post. It is good to implement more than one way of making money on a blog for better returns.

  27. Very useful suggestions and I liked that you mentioned that a blogger first needs to create a good blog, i.e. quality content, before attempting to monetize. There are many people nowadays who get into blogging because they think it’s a get rich quick strategy.

    1. Many bloggers usually rush to monetize their blogs without even creating reasonable content on their blogs and in the end they get frustrated when the money doesn’t come in because in the first place they can’t enough traffic to their blogs due to insufficient content. So work on the first things first, then money will follow later.

      1. Hey John This composition is very helpful for a new blogger like me. Thank you so much for such wonderful information. Looking forward for more tips from you. Would love to seek your help and advice in my attempt to earn online.
