7 WAYS TO GET BETTER RESULTS WITH YOUR BLOG POSTS

WooCommerce

Having high quality content that reaches the desired audience is one of the main goals of any blogger out there.  In this article, we look at some of the most effective ways to get the best results with your blog posts.

CREATE A CONTENT STRATEGY

Having a documented content strategy keeps your content creation on track. A strategy helps you plan what you need to create, visualize what you already have and know how to use your content to its fullest potential. A strategy also helps you schedule your content creation, publication and shares on the social media. A strategy must have goals like a desired  percentage increase in traffic.

Social media networks provides a better way to reach a wider audience for your content. Find the right time and days when your audience are most active and post your content during those times. Since the life time of content on social media is very short, it is advisable to share content multiple times for a greater audience reach.

CREATE VISUAL CONTENT

Images have an incredible influence on engagement levels. Create content that is visual by nature, such as infographics and slide shares. Include visual graphics in your blog posts to enhance your content. I personally use Canva to create my blog posts images. Ensure you have the right sizes of images that can easily be shared on the social media.

BECOME AN AUTHORITY IN YOUR FIELD/INDUSTRY

When you become an authority in your niche or industry, your audience look to you for insights and opinions on what matters in your field. Your blog or website gives you a platform to showcase your industry expertise and build a reputation. You can become an authority in your field by:

  • Answering questions that your audience have
  • Providing solutions to the problems your audience faces
  • Being genuine & human by writing content that people find helpful and can relate with.

BE CONSISTENT

Create a regular schedule of content publication within your content strategy. Remember consistency is a key component of effective content creation.

HAVE A CALL TO ACTION STRATEGY

Make sure your audience knows how to take the next step from passive reader to engage follower. Use an appealing language, colors, and size when creating calls to action, this motivates your audience and creates a feeling of anticipation e.g. Download a Free E book, Grab your Free Course, Sign up for our Free email newsletter etc. This conveys the value behind the offer.

  1. Thank you for sharing your tips. I struggle with consistency and if I don’t pre-write my posts I won’t have the time during the week. So it definitely helps to stay on top of that.

  2. Great tips! I’m really working on the “BECOME AN AUTHORITY IN YOUR FIELD/INDUSTRY” part because although I have extensive experience in niche, it’s always something new to learn, whether there’s a new company on the market offering work at home positions or a new business opportunity. Trying to juggle my full-time job and managing the blog can get challenging but I know it will pay off in the long run. Thanks for sharing!

  3. The hardest share is usually the first one with blogging. Whenever I hit publish I make sure to share my stuff out across all my social media platforms.

Having a CTA is important too, I’ve seen a lot of videos where they deliver great content but totally forget about their call to action.
Thanks for putting this training together, good stuff.

    1. Hi Reco, I agree with you, marketing is the key to successful blogging. Producing Quality content isn’t just enough, you must push it to reach the desired audience.

  4. I really need to start doing content strategy. When I was a new blogger, it was easy to manage without it. But now that I’m over a year in, there’s a lot going on. Thanks!

    1. I personally get more than 80% of my traffic from social media, so its worth the effort promoting content there, but you need to have a strategy like which groups to join, and how & when to share you content.

  5. I think the hardest part is being consistent when you have a full-time job. But it’s true, it’s important to build up a loyal fan base.

  6. Great tips for getting the most out of the effort and time put into a blog post. I think I have recognized lately that making sure that you are as niche specific as possible can help you to become an authority on your subject and you can become to go-to person for your readers to keep coming back to for information.

    1. Yes, going for a specific niche, enables you become an authority in that area. Am experimenting on narrowing down to a given niche on my new blog that am working on, and have seen that, it brings in great results. This works well for your audience and search engines.

    1. I haven’t used Blogger before, but I think, it is possible to transfer to WordPress. There are advantages of using WordPress like you get to interact with many fellow WordPress bloggers who you can learn from.

  7. Thanks for your tips. I’m new to blogging, but agree with your tip to have a “call to action.” I can’t say that every post I’ve written has a call to action, but I definetly incorporate it where possible. 🙂 Thanks for sharing!

  8. Hay John, I am also a blogger and already knew this tips, but never looked at these tips as you have mentioned in this blog post. It’s an eye opener post for me. Thanks for sharing these tips.
